Easter weekend (2023) in Taddington

Not long to go until Easter weekend and a lot is planned for Taddington.

Saturday sees the launch of the exhibition at the Institute dedicated to Wells Weeks past and future, if you like a spring ‘prequel’ to warmer summer days, with an exhibition celebrating past wells dressings events. Alongside photographs capturing the spirit of the festival, visitors will be able to enjoy the original artwork for earlier wells dressings created by Cheryl, as well as images of those designed by other members of the community.

The Institute will be open from 11:00 – 3.30 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for refreshments and the exhibition.

On Saturday morning the Saturday café will run as usual with stalls and refreshments and tickets for the next Live and Local on sale. However, we will then remain open until 3:30 and serve light lunches and afternoon teas alongside the exhibition.

In the evening, Buxton based guitar playing and singing duo “Fred Up” will be performing a live “music round” of old TV theme tunes. Come along and see if you can identify them, and even remember who sang them originally and who composed the tunes. It will be a fun evening, very relaxed, there will be points, they will bring prizes and Peter has even promised to spare us from a raffle this time…

On Sunday and Monday (11:00 – 3:30) the Institute will be open for the exhibition again and will offer a similar range of refreshments.
