A reminder that the first Wells Week walk will take place on Monday 20th August to raise money for Wells Week. Please come along and bring your dog, your children and your friends! All ages and abilities welcome.

We’ll meet in the churchyard at 18:00 and start the walk at 18:30. We’ll be walking on fairly flat (as flat as Taddington allows), stock free footpaths and bridleways in the countryside around the village. There will be a short (about 45 minutes) and longer (an hour or so) route to choose from. The longer walk will be led by our local historian who will provide lots of local historical information and tales.

The walk will be followed by a BBQ in the churchyard, with burger, salads and a glass of Pimms, beer or a soft drink included in the ticket price which is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children (under 16) and £12.00 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).

All welcome – you don’t even need a dog!

Pre-booking or purchasing tickets in advance is not required but if you are planning to come on the walk, or even just considering it, please let us know as it will really help us with the food and drink requirements.

All proceeds to the Well Dressing fund.

A reminder that the Lanes Race will take place as usual on Tuesday the 21st of August. The race starts from the Institute at 7:00 pm, so do come down to see the runners off or cheer them on towards the end, or both – we expect the fastest runners back at the Institute before 7:30, so they will make their appearance in Town End at the bottom of The Gates/The Old George/Hades Lane before then! Or you might catch glimpse of them near High Mere some time in between.

Food (beef chilli and a couple of veggie options) will be available for everybody (runners and spectators) from 7:00.

Registration for runners is from 6:30 – the Institute will be open from 6:15.

A WARM WELCOME

Every year, the small village of Taddington in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, is pleased to welcome people from all over the world to its Well Dressing and Flower Festival.

Each year there is a different theme on which the designs are based and this year the theme is Classic Fairy Tales.

The Village Fete runs at the same time, with events throughout the week for a wide range of ages:

Please note that there are no Afternoon Teas on Sunday the 17th and 24th of June.
