Taddington Midsummer Bonfire!

The annual village midsummer bonfire and BBQ will be held at Humphrey Gate Quarry on Saturday 20th June. The party starts with light drinks and other consumables at 6pm and the fire will be lit at 6:30pm.

The bonfire will be built during the week before, so if you have any wood or burnable garden rubbish (only!), then please bring it up to the quarry on Saturday afternoon.

All proceeds to the Institute.

Taddington School Summer Fayre

Sunday 28th June, 2-4.00 p.m.

Please support your local primary school’s annual Summer Fayre.

Amongst the attractions this year: Tombola, bottle stall, bran tub, bouncy castle, hot food, ice cream, refreshments, soaps, maypole dancing, bric-a-brac, raffle, penalty shoot-out and design your own hat competition.

Church Service May 10th

Don’t forget – Sunday’s church service on May 10th. It will be a 10.00 a.m. Holy Communion service with references to VE Day. There will be appropriate readings, prayers and hymns. All welcome.

TADDINGTON TEAS!

Taddington Teas will be up and running again on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th May from 11am – 4pm in the Institute. If you’d like to offer to bake, or give a hand with serving, then please contact Madeleine at Orchard Barn. If you’re not in the village for this Bank Holiday, we’ll be back again for the 23rd, 24th and 25th May. Any bric a brac can be dropped into the Institute on the Saturday morning.

Thursday Club Meeting

Thursday 23rd April, Village Institute at 2.30pm, Thursday Club.

Ray Slack, village historian will give a fascinating illustrated talk on our village church, followed by refreshments.

All retired, semi-retired villagers are most welcome to come and join our Thursday club.

The Taddington Singers, together with The Chorale Singers,  will present a Spring Serenade…

Vivaldi – Gloria,  Handel – Zadok the Priest, Mendelssohn – Hear my Prayer & music by Mathias, Balfour Gardiner and Karl Jenkins
